Self-confidence impacts on nearly everything we do. If self-confidence is low, almost all areas of your life can be difficult, from the work arena to our personal relationships. Signs of low self- confidence might include extreme self-criticism, or fear of new activities.

Low self- confidence is often programmed by the judgements of parents in our formative years, or through peer groups in our school years. Labels and condemnations insignificant to their instigator may be stored for years by the person judged, with negative self-perception the result. A critical inner voice is a very common manifestation.

Interpersonal relations are also affected. Fearing the judgement of others, we strike first, by emotional responses such as avoidance, dependency, or violence - the result being to distance ourselves from real intimacy and healthy relationships.

Treatment

A good place to start is to treat yourself with simple therapies like massage or a relaxing bath, using essential oils. The methods below focus on common areas relating to relationships, which are often a source of self-confidence issues.

Method 1 - Dependency

Blend in 10ml of vegetable oil :

Mix the drops of oil and add into your bath, or add to the atmosphere via a candle or diffuser.

Method 2 - Tissue

Blend in 10ml of vegetable oil :

  • Rose (2 drops)
  • Patchouli (6 drops)
  • Orange (6 drops)
