lavender

Lavender (lavandula officinalis) is a hardy, fragrant shrub, indigenous to the mountains of the Mediterranean and now cultivated all over the world. The essential oil of the same name is extracted only from the flowers of the plant.

Lavender has a wide spectrum of healing powers making it one of the most diverse oils in use today. The cool dispersing and relaxing qualities benefit inflammation, spasms, pain and general unrest, whilst its antiseptic qualities are suitable for a wide range of infections.

Soothing and supportive of the heart, the oil may be used to treat nervous tension, insomnia, palpitations and high blood pressure. Its anti-spasmodic and analgesic nature helps menstrual tension and pain, muscular stiffness and aches.

psychological benefits

Lavender has an ability to calm and stabilise the heart, which is responsible for maintaining our overall mental-emotional equilbrium. As the only essential oil that can be served undiluted, Lavender is best kept close at hand!
